N.B.—The number of new cases during 1921 consisted
of 245 under 1 year, and 161 over 1 year of age. The number
of new cases under 1 year of age, therefore, represents
40.6 per cent. of the total births.
II. School Clinics.
(a) For minor ailments: Winchmore Hill; Holly
Park (outside the district, but at which
Southgate children receive treatment).
(b) Ophthalmic Clinic: Garfield Road School,
New Southgate; held weekly.
(c) Dental Clinic: Holly Park School.
These are provided by the Middlesex County Council.
Public Elementary Schools.
SOUTHGATE.
Medical Inspection under the Education Act, 1907.
The County Medical Officer is the School Medical Officer for
this District, and organises and supervises the work. The
inspections are carried out by an Assistant Medical Officer.
Arrangements for these visits are made beforehand, and the
parents are summoned to them.
