The average hardness of samples of water taken during the
year is:-
Total hardness 23 9
Permanent hardness 5.9
Temporary hardness 18.0
All new and repaired mains are chlorinated before being
restored to use and samples of water from them are teste d
bacteriologically to ensure the purity of the water
SWIMMING POOLS
Ruislip Lido
Forty samples of water were obtained and submitted to the
Central Health Laboratory Colindale, for bacteriological
examination.
Private Swimming Pools
Private swimming pools in the District were regularly
inspected and samples obtained all of which were satisfactory,
