General Provisions of
Health Services in the District
INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL
St. John's Isolation Hospital is situated at Kingston Lane,
Uxbridge. Telephone : Uxbridge 5120-1.
SMALLPOX AND TYPHUS
Any suspicious case should be reported to the Medical Officer
of Health who will arrange for a smallpox or typhus consultant
to confirm diagnosis and will also find accommodation at the
appropriate hospital.
VENEREAL DISEASES
Treatment of cases can be obtained at London Hospitals and
at Hillingdon Hospital, Uxbridge. Times for attendance at the
Hillingdon Hospital are as follows :—
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8.30 a.m.—6.30 p.m.
Tuesday 8.30 a.m.—7.00 p.m.
Thursday 8.00 a.m.—8.00 p.m.
Saturday 8.00 a.m.—12 noon
HOSPITALS
Hillingdon Hospital, Hillingdon, Uxbridge. General and
Maternity. For admission, applications should be made to the
Medical Director. Telephone : Uxbridge 1782.
Northwood, Pinner and District Hospital, Pinner Road,
Northwood. Telephone : Northwood 567.
Mount Vernon Hospital, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.
Telephone : Northwood 1234.
St. Vincent's Orthopaedic Hospital, Eastcote. Telephone:
Pinner 50. For admission application should be made by the
doctor in attendance.
