Dysentery.
Of the five cases notified, four were inmates of an institution. The
primary case at the institution was admitted there when suffering from diarrhoea
and no doubt infected the other inmates. The other case, a child of 2 years,
undoubtedly contracted the disease whilst staying in another district, where he
was in contact with other cases.
Poliomyelitis.
No case occurred during the year.
Measles.
Most of the 468 cases were notified between January and March, 171
being in March.
Whooping Cough.
Cases were notified throughout the year and totalled 107, compared with
204 cases in 1950.
Disinfection.
Verminous rooms disinfested 87
