TYPHOID FEVER.
Two Cases only of Typhoid Fever were notified, as
against 11 last year, and neither of them died.
DISINFECTION.
My department has been very zealous in the carrying
out of the necessary disinfection after all these notifiable
diseases, and I can personally testify to the thoroughness
with which this very necessary work is carried out. I am
very anxious, too, that we should not limit the good of
disinfection to these Zymotic diseases, and I should like
it to be generally known that we are quite ready to disinfect
thoroughly after all cases of Phthisis and Cancer, and
also that disinfectants can be obtained on application to
the Sanitary Inspector for disinfecting the different
excreta from cases of Phthisis or Cancer.
I need hardly add how glad we shall be to have a
disinfector of our own, as articles can then be expeditiously
disinfected and returned at once. At present it
sometimes happens that the poorer people are obliged to
do without their bedding for a night.
