This has caused 646 Intimation Notices and 84
Statutory Notices to be served, and also 315 letters have
been written. Much of the work has been done on the
receipt of the Intimation Notice, and, generally speaking,
the owners have agreed that the work required by the
notice should be done.
The House-to-House Inspection is still progressing,
and in time we hope to have a record of all the houses in
the District.
The honour of being sent as your delegate to the
Sanitary Institute Congress at Bradford was much appreciated,
and was a subject of a special report to the Works
and General Purposes Committee, so that there is no need
to go over the ground covered by that report.
These Congresses give one a stimulus to better work,
and the district correspondingly reaps the benefit.
In conclusion I wish to express my thanks for the
kind and valuable assistance given by the other officers of
the Council in the working of this Department.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
ALFRED J. WILLETT,
Graduate Municipal and County Engineers.
Associate Sanitary Institute.
