I am indebted to the Housing and Estates Manager for the following statistics on re-housing carried out by the Local Authority:—

(a) Families in urgent need of other accommodation 75
(b) Families whose applications require early consideration 234
(c) Families whose applications are less urgent 211

(d) Families with varying degrees of housing need 230
5. It is not possible to give any accurate idea of the number of families
on the waiting list living in overcrowded conditions as no figures are
kept as to the extent of statutory overcrowding, but about 309 of the
families included in (4) above are living in crowded conditions.
