Rivers, Streams and Lakes.
There are two rivers, the Cray and the Kydbrook. Since 1950,
the Kent Rivers Board have been responsible for their supervision in
respect of pollution, etc.
Factories Acts, 1937 and 1948.
There are 155 factories on the Council's register at the present
time.
Eighty-five visits of inspection were made by the Sanitary Inspectors
during the year.
Seven defects or contraventions were found and 6 abated.
The following is a copy of the return relating to the year 1955,
which has been supplied to the Minister of Labour and National
