Housing Statistics for the year 1953.

Clearance Areas. Housing Acts, 1936—1949.
During the year, steps were taken to review housing conditions
in the urban district and preliminary lists prepared of proposed
Clearance Areas. It is anticipated that these properties can be dealt
with during the next five years and the tenants rehoused in co-operation
with the Housing Department.
Re-Housing.
I am indebted to the Housing Manager for the following statistics of re-housing carried out by the Local Authority:—
