BURIAL OF THE DEAD
During the year 10 burials were arranged by the Department, for persons who had
died or been found dead within the Borough, and where no private arrangements were
being made for the disposal of the body.
INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATES OF VACCINATION AND INOCULATION
Arrangements continued during the year for the authentication of Certificates of
Vaccination and inoculation. These certificates are required by persons proceeding
abroad from this country and the purpose of the authentication is to provide information
to health authorities abroad that the signature of the person issuing the certificate
is that of a registered medical practitioner.
PUBLIC SWIMMING BATHS
I am indebted to Mr. J.Lanagan, Acting Baths Manager,for the following report on the
Public Swimming Baths in the Borough.
"There are two indoor public swimming baths establishments in the Borough, (a)
High Road Baths, and (b) Cathall Road Baths, Leytonstone. Further, there is an
Open Air Bathing Pool at Whipps Cross, Leytonstone, administered by the Baths
Superintendent for and on behalf of the Joint Committee elected from members of
the Leyton and Walthamstow Borough Councils.
