SCABIES.
In order to provide facilities for dealing with the increased
prevalence of scabies and verminous conditions at that time, a
Special Clinic and Cleansing Centre was established in Ruckholt
Road School in the early part of 1942. The following figures show
the work done at that Clinic since then.

It will be seen that there has been a welcome and progressive
decrease in the number of cases treated at the Clinic; and during
January until October, 1950, the Clinic has had occasion to deal
with only 10 cases.
In early September the Medical Officer of Health reported to
the appropriate Committee:—
It may be considered uneconomic to make provision for
the treatment of such a small number of cases, and I have
received a letter from the Borough Education Officer asking
whether it would be possible for the premises to be made
available to the Youth Centre to accommodate the Domestic
Science and Dressmaking Classes.
Since receipt of his letter I have been in communication
with the Medical Officer of Health, Walthamstow, who informs
me that his Council would be prepared to treat Leyton patients
on the basis of 7s. 6d. per attendance.
The Scabies Clinic in Walthamstow is situated in High
Street, Walthamstow.
In November the Medial Officer of Health submitted the

At the September Meeting of your Committee I submitted
