SLAUGHTER-HOUSES.
One registered slaughter-house, one permanently licensed and one
annually licensed slaughter-house were discontinued during the year.
Four applications were received for licensing of premises as slaughterhouses
under the Food and Drugs Act, 1938. These premises will be
licensed on completion of certain works of improvement.

PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER, INFECTIOUS DISEASES.

The clinic started at Harlington Cottage Hospital in January was discontinued at the end of July and was not resumed owing to lack of applications for immunisation and the fact that the hospital was converted into a first-aid post.
