Eleven licences for the temporary use of houses by persons in
excess of the permitted number were issued under section 61
of the Housing Act, 1936. Under the same section, seven notices
covering copy of licence authorising persons in excess of the
permitted number to sleep in house were served on landlords.
Sixty-eight notices requiring statement of persons sleeping in
house were served under section 66 of the Housing Act, 1936 ;
all the notices were complied with.
SECTION E.
INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
(a) Milk Supply.
There are four dairy farms in this district and these have been
regularly inspected.
Inspection of dairy cattle by a veterinary inspector for the
detection of tuberculous animals is undertaken by the County
Council.
Nine samples of milk have been submitted for bacterial count
during the year. The reports of the bacteriologist are set out
below in tabular form.
There is one producer in the district licensed by the County
Council under the Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1936,
for the production of accredited milk.

Two milk dealers were licensed during the year to produce pasteurised milk. The table below gives particulars of the other thirty-five licences granted during the year :—
