STREET ACCIDENTS.
The Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis has kindly
supplied the following statement respecting traffic accidents
in this area during the year. Seven of the accidents were fatal
and 308 resulted in personal injuries, last year's figures being
8 fatal accidents and 285 personal injuries. Of the fatal accidents
four of the victims were Dedal cvclists and three were pedestrians.

In addition, one pedal cyclist died in 1937 as a result of an accident occurring in the previous year.

SECTION B.
GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE
AREA.
These are the same as in former years.
PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICERS OF THE LOCAL
AUTHORITY.
The Public Health Department is staffed by one part-time
Medical Officer, the Chief Sanitary Inspector, three other Sanitary
Inspectors, one Meat Inspector and two Clerks. The
Chief Sanitary Inspector is also Inspector under the Petroleum
Acts and the Shops Acts. The Chief Sanitary Inspector and one
other Inspector hold the special Meat and Food Inspector's
Certificate of the Royal Sanitary Institute. Contributions to
the salaries of these Officers are received from the Exchequer.
