PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER
INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
General.
There was an increase in the number of cases of diphtheria
notified during the year to sixty-five from thirty-five in the
previous year. Of these four died.
Swabs for the examination of throat and nose discharges
were supplied gratis to medical practitioners to assist them
in the diagnosis of diphtheria, antitoxin being provided free.
