Twelve fish friers and four fat extractors are licensed
by the Council. Regular inspections have been made and
the trade is conducted satisfactorily.
During the year proceedings were instituted against
the owner of a travelling fish frying van for establishing and
carrying on the trade of a fish frier without the consent of
the Local Authority. The Justices dismissed both summonses
on the grounds that the definition of premises does
not include a van; upon appeal the case was sent back for
conviction, and a fine of £2 with two guineas costs was
imposed.

SCHOOLS.
The usual notification of infectious disease was made to
head teachers of schools and to the School Medical Officer.
