BIRTHS.
The birth-rate shews a slight decrease compared with that of 1920, though
it is higher than those years immediately preceding. Under the "Notification of
Births Act," 125 births were notified to me.
DEATHS.
During 1921 the total number of deaths that were registered was 45, of
which 24 were males and 21 females. The gross death-rate is therefore 6.42 per
1000 of the population. 13 deaths of inhabitants have taken place outside the
district, and after deducting the transferable deaths (6), the net. number of deaths
in Hayes is 52, 26 males, and 26 females. This gives a net death rate of 7.43.
