All satisfied the phosphatase test. Failures are due to ineffective
stock rotation and the suppliers concerned were informed.
Brucella Abortis
The Department of Health & Social Security Circular 1/71
requests information regarding the number of samples of raw
milk examined for brucella abortis, the number of positive samples
found and the action taken in respect of positive samples.
I have to report that no samples of raw milk have been the
subject of examination in this regard as all supplies of milk
retailed in this Borough are heat treated.
During the year 330 samples of ice cream were submitted for bacteriological examination, with results as shown:-

Nine lollies were submitted for bacteriological examination
and all proved satisfactory.
14 ice creams and nine lollies were also submitted to the
Public Analyst and all were satisfactory.
Other Food Sampling
Bacteriological examination of other food products were
carried out during the year in respect of the undermentioned
commodities:-
