Outworkers
Employers of outworkers in certain specified trades arerequired to make half-yearly returns showing
the home addresses of such workers and the class of work upon which they are engaged so that action
can be taken to prevent work being undertaken in unwholesome premises, or to stop the spread of
infectious disease. However, no action was required in respect of these matters, but the use of power
machines in private houses has given rise to complaints from neighbours of noise and vibration and
this aspect is dealt with elsewhere in this report (see page 26).
