Two hundred and sixteen deaths were registered in the
Colney Hatch Asylum during the year—126 males, 90 females;
these deaths were equal to a rate of 75 per 1,000 of the population
living in the Asylum at all ages. The causes of deaths in the
Asylum were the following:—
Exhaustion from General Paralysis 40
Exhaustion from Mania, Dementia or Melancholia 10
Exhaustion from Epilepsy 17
Phthisis 19
Pneumonia 1
Cancer 1

The rate of Infantile Mortality, or annual number of deaths of
infants under one year of age to every thousand births registered in
the year was
