Medical Inspection.

This increase in inspection is the largesl recorded in the borough school medical service, and I must add, is in no small measure due to the hard work and enthusiasm of one of my colleagues, Dr. Maurice Blair, your Assistant School Medical Officer.

Malnutrition. Provision of Meals and Malt and Oil.
On referring to table B, and comparing these figures with
last year's, the following facts emerge.
In the first age group, entrants, there were 9.29 per cent,
in A (excellent), a decrease of 8.91 per cent.; 70.78 per cent,
were in B (normal), an increase of 5.78 per cent. ; 19.36 per
cent, in C (slightly sub-normal), an increase of 2.16 per cent. ;
and there were 0.54 in D (bad).
In the second age group, 8 year olds, there were 9.09 per
cent, in A, a decrease of 5.81 per cent.; 60.96 per cent, in B,
a decrease of 8.24 per cent.; 28.87 per cent, in C, an increase
of 13.97 per cent.; and 1.06 per cent, in D, an increase of
.16 per cent.
In other routine inspections, there were 12.24 per cent, in
A; 64.28 per cent, in B; 22.44 per cent, in C; and 1.02 per
cent, in D.

At the end of the year a total of 178 children were receiving
