G(2)b. Scabies.
In accordance with the requirements of the Scabies Order
1942, the Council inaugurated a scheme for the treatment of
notified cases of Scabies and the examination and subsequent
treatment if found necessary of contacts.
Male cases and contacts were treated at a disinfestation
station provided at the Isolation Hospital which was opened
during September 1942 and females and children were treated
in the cleansing section of the Erith First Aid Post.
The Council own a high pressure steam disinfector at the
Erith Isolation Hospital and bedding and clothing as necessary
is treated there. 10,027 items were actually dealt with during
1942 in connection with 286 cases of Scabies treated.
