B (7 ). Midwives.
The administration of the Midwives Acts is carried out by
the Kent County Council which is the Local Supervising
Authority. Under the new Midwives Act the County Council
employ and supervise midwives working in this area.
B(8). Maternity and Nursing Homes.
At present there is one registered Nursing Home in the
district. No applications for registration were received during
the year.
B (9). Dental Clinic.
The Maternity and Child Welfare Dental Clinic which is
held fortnightly for Dental Treatment for mothers and preschool
children, was well attended during the year, attendances
being as follows : —

B (10). NURSING IN THE HOME.
B (10)a. General.
Three voluntary Nursing Associations provide nurses for
work in the district. These are not directly subsidised by the
Local Authority, but are supported b}' weekly contributions by
Members of the Associations, and subscriptions from others.
The services of these nurses are also available to nonmembers
of the Associations for a small fee per visit.
B(10)b. Infectious Disease.
It has not been found necessary during the year to make
use of the legislation which enables this Authority to compel
removal of infectious patients to hospital.
B (10) c. Home Help.
