E(8) e. Fitness of Houses.
During the year, in connection with the inspection of
existing houses under the Housing Consolidated Regulations,
1925, which make it the duty of a Local Authority to cause
systematic inspection of the district to be made, the findings
recorded, and any defects discovered to be remedied, 217
records were made of houses necessitating 518 inspections. In
addition to these, 523 dwelling houses were found on inspection
to be not in all respects reasonably fit for human habitation and
in all cases steps were taken to render them so fit.
E (8) f. Clearance Areas.
No action has been taken during the year under the
provisions of Part III of the Housing Act, 1936, relating to
Clearance Areas.
E(9). Factories.
Administration of the Factory and Workshop Act 1901 and
the Factories Act 1937 (which superseded the Act of 1901 on
1st July, 1938).
