Mentally Defective Children.
I append the Annual Report of the Local Organiser of
the Kent Voluntary Association for Mental Welfare. I mayadd
that the work of this Association is very highly valued by
the School Medical Department.
Report of the Work of the Kent Voluntary Association
for Mental Welfare for the Erith Education
Committee for the year 1937.
Enquiries have been made in the five cases of young people
remaining under supervision at the end of the year.
After Care.
Two boys and three girls remain on the After Care list.
One lad is in regular work and is believed to be getting on
well. The other lad is less satisfactory partly on account of
home circumstances. One girl is employed and is doing well.
The two other girls are helping at home and it is doubtful if
either of them will become self-supporting. As there may be
need for some action in the future in respect of one of these,
it is recommended that she be reported informally for friendly
supervision.
