DIPHTHERIA
For the eighth year in succession no case of Diphtheria occurred
in the Borough.
DIPHTHERIA IMMUNISATION
1,331 children were immunised for the first time and 2,142
received subsequent reinforcing doses during the year.
These figures show an increase on last year's figures, but
I do not consider the number of parents accepting this service for
their children is yet sufficiently high to warrant any sense of security.
WHOOPING COUGH IMMUNISATION
1,158 children were immunised against Whooping Cough for the
first time during the year, and 351 received subsequent re-inforcing
doses.
It is encouraging to record that these figures again shew an
increase.
