SLAUGHTER-HOUSES
There are eight slaughter-houses in Enfield, none of which is
in use at present.
THE MILK (SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS) (RAW MILK) AND
(PASTEURISED AND STERILISED MILK) REGULATIONS, 1949.

The following Licences were in operation at the end of the year:

During the year 19 samples of Milk were taken and tested;
all were found to be satisfactory.
CLEAN AND SAFE FOOD CAMPAIGN
When model byelaws giving control of the handling, wrapping
and delivery of food, and the sale of food in the open air were
received from the Ministry of Health in October, 1949, the Council
resolved to adopt the Byelaws. The Council had been interested
in the question of Clean and Safe Food for some time and had
discussed the matter frequently. It was therefore decided to set
up a "Clean Food" Committee consisting of members of the
Health Committee and representatives from various organisations
