The Inspector appointed to carry out the requirements of
Section 58 of the Housing Act, 1936, and the provisions of the
Shops Acts, 1912 to 1936, made the following number of visits
during the year:—

TOTAL INSPECTIONS
Two-hundred-and-twenty-three visits were paid in respect of
infectious diseases during the year, and the total number of inspections
and visits for all purposes made by the Sanitary Inspectors
was 24.068.
INTERVIEWS
A considerable amount of the time of the staff of the Health
Department is taken up in interviewing members of the public
who call at the offices for advice on matters concerning health
and complaints as to the condition of their houses.
