Area (in acres) 12,400
POPULATION.
The population as estimated by the Registrar General at the
middle of the year was 97,410.
The number of inhabited houses at the end of 1939, according
to the Rate Books, was 29,164.
The rateable value of the District is £873,412
The net product (after allowing for cost
of collection) of a penny rate is £3,487 6s. 1d.
