Enfield Education Committee.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I beg to submit my report on the Ophthalmic Department for
the year ending 31st December, 1934.

During the year eight children were referred for operation
for squint. Three refused treatment, four were operated upon, and
one is awaiting admission to hospital. In addition to these, three
children who were referred for operation in 1933 were operated
upon in 1934. Two children were referred to the Western Ophthalmic
Hospital for removal of meibomian cysts.
The figures for this year show very little variation when compared
with the figures for the past few years. There is for instance,
only an increase of 99 in the total number of cases examined since
1928, while the new cases have increased by 294 and the
