During 1934 arrangements were made with the Western
Ophthalmic Hospital that for a fee of 10 guineas per annum the
hospital should accept for in-patient or our-patient treatment all
children referred there by the School Ophthalmic Surgeon.
During the course of the year the following cases were referred
to the Western Ophthalmic Hospital:—
2 for removal of meibomian cysts.
7 for operation for squint.
12 for other conditions.
Of these children, 12 received out-patient, 4 were given inpatient
treatment, and 5 were given both in-patient and out-patient
treatment. These figures show how satisfactory this scheme has
been.
