POPULATION.
The estimated population for Enfield for 1923, which has been
based on the adjusted 1921 figures, after allowance for the varying
rates of natural increase as evidenced by births and deaths, and
migrations as indicated from other sources of information, has been
supplied by the Registrar-General as 62,380.
BIRTHS.
The number of births registered in the District was:—
Boys, 511. Girls, 503. Total, 1,014,
including 22 illegitimate births, i.e., 2.16 per cent. of the total.
The births of boys and girls, including those registered outside the District, also birth-rates for the last three years, were :—

DEATHS.
The deaths registered in the district during the year were 382,
of which 188 were males and 194 females, giving a crude deathrate
of 6.12. To these must be added 197 deaths of Enfield residents
