No. of births notified:—1,035, 62% of which were visited.
It was found impossible to re-visit systematically all cases,
but re-visits were paid where considered to be of special importance,
such as:—First Babies; Twins; Babies artificially fed, or likely to
be; Illegitimate; Dirty houses; Ill-health in mother or baby.
We deeply regret the loss of Mrs. McEwan, the Chairman of
the Committee, who passed away on the 18th February, 1920.
Her enthusiasm for the work was marvellous, and she never
begrudged time or money to forward it in every way that she could.
I am afraid it will be very hard 10 fill her place.
The deaths for the last five years will be found in Table I.
Table II. shows the cases of infectious disease notified during
the year.
Table III. gives the various causes of death at all ages, and
Table IV. those under one year.
