The number of deaths from this disease during the year is shewn in the following table, viz.:—

Forty-two cases were removed during the year.
Thirteen went into the Infirmary; 7 were discharged, and 3
died.
Ten went into Hospitals; 7 were discharged and 2 died; while
of the remainder, 19 went'into Sanatoria; 12 were discharged, and
7 are still there.
There were also 6 cases of Home Treatment.
The following facts, obtained when visiting the cases, are of
interest:—
Sixteen cases came into the District ill.
One or both parents known to have died of Phthisis in 17 cases.
Brother or sister known to have died from Phthisis in 12 cases.
Relations known to have died from Phthisis in 2 cases.
Wife known to have died from Phthisis in 1 case.
Husband known to have died from Phthisis in 1 case.
Phthisis known to be amongst members of the family and
relations in 21 cases.
