OPHTHALMIC CLINIC.
77 children under 5 years of ago attended this clinic during the year.
54 attendances wore made for Refraction and 106 for re-examination.
BIRTH CONTROL CLINIC.
3 women wore referred to this clinic during the year.
SPEECH CLINIC.
Arrangements arc made with the Education Committee for children under five
years of ago to attend the Speech Clinic and 8 children wore referred during
the year.

FREE MEALS.
During the year 12 applications were received 8 of whom wore granted the supply
of free meals at the British Restaurants. 2 people had their applications
renewed.
CONVALESCENT CASES.
3 children were sent away under the contract with the Invalid Children's Aid
Association and 3 children were still away at the beginning of the year who
had been sent during 1942,
TONSILS AND ADENOIDS.
65 children were admitted to hospital for the removal of tonsils and adenoids;
of these 40 paid the full cost, 2 were free of charge and 23 were through the
H.S.A.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum. 17 cases were notified during the year and of these
14 occurred in North Middlesex County Hospital, 3 of which wore Edmonton cases.
Of the three cases on the district, one was removed to hospital.
Puerperal Pyrexia. 133 cases were notified during the year and of this
number 120 occurred in North Middlesex County Hospital of which 34 were
Edmonton cases. Ten cases occurred on the district of which seven were removed
to the Isolation Hospital, and throe further cases were notified from the
Mothers' Hospital, Clapton.
MIDWIFERY SERVICE.
Medical Aid. The number of claims made by doctors for Medical Aid during the
year 1943 was 118, of this number 23 cases were granted free of charge, 13 at
half cost and the remainder paid the full fee.
