staff ana the willing sacrifice they displayed on the outbreak of
war.

School Medical Officer.
1- STAFF.
Dr. Hilda R. Hay commenced duties as Assistant School Medical
Officer on January 1st and Dr. M.F. Coveney on the 1st June, 1939.
Mr. F. H. Weiss, assistant Dentist was called to the colours on the
out-break of War.
Miss Lister, School Nurse/Health Visitor commenced duties on the
1st June, 1939.
2. CO-ORDINATION.
The amount of co-rdination between the School Medical, Public
Health and Maternity and Child Welfare Departments showed a furtherimprovement
in 1939.
A gratifying increase in the co-ordination between the local
practitioners and the School medical Service was noted, notably in
the case of the special services.
Very close co-operation continues to exist between the Education
Office and the teaching staff and the School Medical Services which
leads to smooth working and more satisfactory results.
3. SCHOOL HYGIENE.
Arrangements are the same as in previous years.
4. MEDICAL INSPECTION,

The number of children fully examined in the routine inspection of each group during 1939 was 3,046 and these were analysed as follows

These figures represent the first seven months of 1939. The
Schools did not re-open after the Summer Holidays on account of hostilities
.
5. FINDINGS OF MEDICAL INSPECTION.

The following is the classification of the nutrition of children inspected during the year 1939 in the routine age groups.
