11. For Infectious Diseases (notifiable and non-notifiable).
Without measles, in connection with the notifiable infectious diseases, 189
notices were issued by the Medical Officer of Health excluding 211 children, as
patients or contacts, from attending day or Sunday schools for definite periods.
On account of measles and the non-notifiable infectious diseases, notices
excluding 2779 children as patients or contacts were issued by me, after enquiries
had been made as to the real nature of the illness.

The numbers excluded in

1917-16-15 were 2,044, 2,058, and 1,415 respectively. It is interesting to note the great variation in the number of children excluded from the schools during 1918.
