Other Defects or Deformities.
Seven children, six boys and one girl were "pigeon chested." Nocturnal
enuresis, "wetting the bed," was complained of in the case of 5 children, 1 boy
and four girls. This complaint, distressing alike to parents and children,
seems one of the most difficult to cure after the child has got to school age.
One child, a girl, had a cervical rib.
SCH00L CLINICS.
A scheme was agreed upon by the Education Committee in 1914 and sent
to the Board of Education. I disarmed the criticism of the Board in some of
the details of the scheme, and we believe that its formal approval by the Board
is now only withheld until the conclusion of the European war. There is no
scheme which can be applied universally, and any scheme to be successful
must be framed with the knowledge of the peculiar needs of the area concerned.
