A total of 9,067 persons were examined, of whom 61 required
special investigation and further X-rays. It is hoped that such
visits may become an annual event.
A static Mass X-ray unit has been established at the Central
Middlesex Hospital and this has proved of the utmost value for
the regular examination of expectant mothers in the Borough
attending the ante-natal clinics and other groups who are at
special risk or who come into close contact with children.

The following table shows the age and sex of the cases notified and the deaths in 1952.
