Form SD.25 was changed in 1968 and the Registrar General now lists
deaths due to abortion and deaths due to other complications of childbirth
and pregnancy separately. In these figures I have excluded the deaths due
to abortion but for comparison with 1967 the maternal mortality rates including
them are as follows:—
