The results obtained from school inspections were as following

Acceptance Rate
Though where private attention is more readily obtainab???
competition with the General Practitioner Service has led to
significant drop in acceptance, the net result seems to has
been merely to relieve the abnormal burden of the post war years
To offset these advantages the responsibilities of the Sch???
Service have been considerably increased by provision of a lar???
number of Primary and Secondary Schools in the newer sections ???
the Borough, where the demand for treatment continues to be hig???

Treatment
Of 16, 086 children referred for treatment (including specials
9,918 (61.6 per cent.) were treated and 6,962 (43.2 per cent.
cured completely, compared with 16,212 referred, 11,194 (69 per
cent.) treated and 7,824 (42 per cent.) cured in 1954.
Despite the usual staff fluctuations the total of treatment
sessions increased slightly from 2,349 to 2,361. Assistance by
