The total number of new cases in 1948 was males 18.1, females
1-31, thai is, approximately three new cases in men for every two
new cases in women. In consequence there is a greater demand
for male beds.

During 1948, '8 -deaths were certified to be due to NonPulmonary
Tuberculosis, compared with 14 in 1947, 9 in 1946,
18 in 1945, 11 in 1944, 16 in 1943, 17 in 1942, 19 in 1941, 21 in
1940, and 12 in 1939.
