Comments on the Incidence and Prevalence of Infectious Disease.
Scarlet Fever cases showed a large decrease on 1947.
The incidence rate of Diphtheria was 0.03, compared with
0.10 in 1947.
No cases of Small Pox occurred during the year.
There were 31 cases of Puerperal Pyrexia; 10 occurred in the
15-24 age group, and 21 in the age group 25-44 years.
ISOLATION HOSPITAL.
1 am indebted to Dr. J. Linehan, the Medical Superintendent
pf the Croydon Isolation Hospital, for the following particulars.

Although the Hospital was transferred to the Hospital Board as from the 5th July, 1948, the statistics have been submitted for the whole year and will be considered in relation to the table of Infectious Diseases on page 22:—
