During the year the Certifying Medical Officers made
examinations and paid visits to the number of 135 to Statutory
cases. The Mental Deficiency Visitors paid 1,458 visits to
Statutory cases and 984 to Education cases, 2,442 visits in all,
an increase of 438 on 1946 figures.

Eighty Orders were renewed during the year, 17 of which
were Guardianship.
Guardianship Cases.
There were 66 cases under Statutory Guardianships, 40 of
these under the care of relatives, and 26 with Guardians who are
not relatives. 10 males and 3 females are at work.
