Inpection of Midwives.
Dr. Jenkin-Lloyd, the Inspector of Midwives, interviewed
two midwives at the Town Hall. Sixty-two visits were paid by
her to the homes of midwives.
Doctors' Accounts under Section 14 (1) of the Midwives Act, 1918.
539 accounts were received from doctors for services rendered
under the provisions of this Section. This compares with 401
in 1946, 291 in 1945, 248 in 1944, 329 in 1943, and 373 in 1942.
The total amount of the accounts was £787 12s. 6d. £471 5s. 2d.
was ultimately recovered from the patients. In 1946 the amount
paid to doctors was £626 Is. 6d., and in 1945, £392 9s. 6d.
