Disinfection of bedding and upholstered articles is carried out
for traders, who deliver them to and collect them from the Station.
For this service a charge is made. During 1944, 2,580 articles
were disinfected, the receipts amounting to £67 2s. 6d.

Disinfection of the under-mentioned articles from such premises as A.R.P., report centres; casualty services; engineers' services; fire service, etc., have been carried out:—

Disinfection was carried out after infectious or contagious
disease at the following premises:—
667 rooms at 547 houses, hospital wards, clinics, and creches.
26 A.R.P. Shelters.
2,865 Library and other books were disinfected.
CLEANSING OF VERMINOUS, Etc., PERSONS.
A Cleansing Station consisting of a reception room, four bath
rooms and a discharge room, is attached to the Disinfecting
Station, and is used for dealing with verminous, etc., conditions
in adults and children. A woman attendant deals with school
children and women. During the year 11 adults and 129
children were cleansed of verminous conditions and 361 adults
and 598 children were treated for Scabies.
