CHEAM SANATORIUM.

The Sanatorium is situated at North Cheam, and normally has accomodation for 93 adult patients of both sexes; Men 53 and Women 40 owing to the blackout arrangements the number of beds non available is 48 men and 37 women.

At the beginning of 1941 there were 79 patients in Cheam Sanatorium.
During the year 142 were admitted and 136 discharged, whilst 19 died, thus
leaving 66 patients in at the end of 1941.
There were 9 observation cases sent in; 8 males and 1 female. Of
the 8 males 7 were not tuberculous, and the 1 female was tubercular,
therefore there were 7 observation cases in non-tuberculous cases which
are shown above. The 2 that were tuberculous are in with the tuberculous
cases and are not shown as observation.
Artificial pneumothorax cases discharged but still under treatment,
11 males, 8 females (see above), making total discharges , males 77,
females 59.
These artificial Pneumothorax cases only refer to cases discharged
in 1941, those discharged in 1940 and still having refills have not been
included.
