The response to this treatment was really remarkable in some cases, the
temperature falling within 24 hours rapidly to normal and the patient from
being delirious and violent, becoming more rational and quieter.
No ??? effects were observed from the admiristration of this drug, beyond
some marked cyanesis at times and repeated vomiting in these cases who could
not ??? the M.B. 633 given by mouth.
The death rate amongst the 22 cases was 31.8%,
Ophthalmia Noonarorum
Five cases were admitted but only in one case was the diagnosis confirmed
the other four being cases of simple ophthalmia.
Infantile Paralysis.
Three cases of this disease were admitted, two of which were fairly severe.
In these only partial recovery took place whilst in hospital. No deaths occurred.
Dysentery.
Five cases were admitted, being all of the Sonne type and mild in character.
Mumps.
Six cases of the disease were admitted, but in one the diagnosis was not
contirmed, it being a case of Scarlet Fever with Nephritis.
Tuberculosis.
During the year 8 cases of this disease were admitted temporarily, some
being jater transferred to Cheam Sanatorium. Two deaths occurred amongst them.
