Compared with 1939, the Statutory cases show a decrease
of 172 and the Education cases 71.
Twelve of the cases under Statutory supervision have died.
Five died in an Institution, one under guardianship, two were
under observation and four were under statutory supervision.
The Statutory cases are distributed as follows: -

During, the year the Certifying Medical Officers nade
examinations and paid visits to the number of 100 to Statutory
cases and 46 tn Education cases - a total of 146, a decrease
of 37 compared with 1^39. The Mental Deficiency Visitors paid
1,832 visits to Statutory cases and 746 Education cases, 2,578
visits in all, a decrease of 1,422 on 1938 figures.
During the year 48 names have been added to the Statutory
List - of whom 16 were notified from the Local Education Authority,
During 1340, thirty Statutory cases were dealt with as follows,
