Inspection of Midwives.
Dr. Jenkin Lloyd, the Inspector of. Midwives, interviewed 14 midwives
at the To:-;n Hall. 36 visits were paid by her to the hones of midwives.
Doctors' Accounts, under section 14 (3.) of the Midwives Act, 1918.
321 accounts we're receiver, from doctors for services rendered under the
provisions of this Section. This compares with 424 in 1939, 388 in 1938,
284 in 1937, 268 in 1936, and 243 in 1935. The total amount of the accounts
was £528 2s. 0d. £170 7s. 5d. was ultimately recovered from the patients.
In 1939 the amount paid to doctors was £533 4s. 0d. and in 1938 £501 0s. 6d.
